February Pub Quiz
19 February 2017
We held our quarterly pub quiz at the Digby in Erdington Thursday evening with 17 teams in participation. Entrance fees and the raffle raised £353.50 for stray and abandoned cats in North Birmingham.
The results of the quiz were unprecedented! First place was tied between Catastrophe and The Cheetahs with 62 points each. Both teams were awarded fantastic prizes.
Due to an administrative error, we initially failed to spot there was a tie for first place! The second winning team, The Cheetahs, have claimed a special prize after they were nearly cheated out of it!
There was also a three-way tie for runner up at 60 points. This was decided based on number of actual correct answers (before the double points Joker was taken into account).
Pictured, Cats the Way We Do It, took home 2nd prize at the quiz on Thursday as well as the Best Team Name! A fun night was had by all, and quiz questions topics ranged from royalty to European countries to picture questions.
Of course, let's not forget that cat-themed wooden spoons are awarded to the team who wins last place.
Special thanks to Adam Darkes, our fantastic quizmaster, and Kathy Porter for organising the event. The night was such a success thanks to additional help from Lee Herbert, Sue Morgan, Jenny Reynolds and Sheila Caprani.
As always, our gratitude goes to the Digby for hosting us. Also, many thanks to Empire Cinema Sutton Coldfield for donating prizes for raffle.
Don’t forget about our next pub quiz May 11- same cat time, same cat channel…
