Lost and Found Have you lost or found a cat?
If you have a lost or found cat you need to report in the North Birmingham area, please call our helpline or Email us. You will need to provide as much detail as possible and it would also help if you are able to supply us with a digital photograph. Send to: cpnblostandfound@hotmail.com. Cats will remain on our site for 3 months.
Another service you can try is AnimalSearchUK.co.uk who specialise in looking for lost pets. At North Birmingham Cats Protection we understand how traumatic it is when a pet goes missing. This is why we provide details of other organisations that may be able to help - even though they are, of course, totally separate from Cats Protection.
Unsure if it is a stray or has owners?
Cats by nature are inquisitive and many have a tendency to wander, so sometimes it can be difficult to determine whether they are a stray or not.
To help establish whether a found cat has owner(s) elsewhere we can provide a Cats Protection collar with our branch number on for the owner to contact us. This is a paper collar so is perfectly safe (it will tear off should the cat get caught on anything) and will eventually come off naturally. To obtain one of these collars please contact the helpline.
We have included a photograph of one of these collars under the found cat section below.
Microchipping
Please get your cat microchipped. Every cat that comes into our care is scanned, and only 5% of cats are found to have a chip. Last year we reunited a cat with its owner due to a microchip; the cat had been missing for 2 years. Make sure to update your chip details if you move house
